aftercare instructions

waxing

day 1

For the first 24-48 hours after waxing, avoid the sun, jacuzzi, going to the gym and physical contact. If you must go out in the sun, make sure you wear a very high spf or cover up completely the area that was waxed. If you must go to the gym or have physical contact, please shower immediately after the workout, because sweat and pubic hair can clog your open pores and cause your skin to break out and promote ingrown hairs.

week 1

About 4 days after the waxing service, we advise that you consistently exfoliate the area. Sloughing off top layers of dead surface skin is the best way to avoid ingrown hairs. Our skin is constantly regenerating, and if we don’t make sure to slough off top layers, the waxed hair (now growing in thinner and finer than before) will have difficulty penetrating the epidermis and will cause ingrown hairs and irritation.

diy

You can always make your own sugar scrub at home, or use an exfoliating glove. If you use an exfoliating glove, make sure you throw it in the wash with your laundry on a regular basis. Warm, dark, wet areas are a breeding ground for bacteria. It's best to avoid rubbing bacteria into freshly exfoliated skin.

frequency

Depending on skin sensitivity, you may want to exfoliate 3 times a week. If you use the Deck Scrub sold at blush it is gentle enough to be used daily. Apply a nickel sized amount in your hand, and rub on skin into the waxed area while in the shower. Thoroughly rinse off and follow up with Deck Polish once the area is completely dry after the shower. With Deck Polish, a little goes a long way, and helps to hydrate the skin and prevent ingrown hairs.

microblading

Please follow these instructions for 7-10 days. Some people take a full 2 weeks to heal.

On the day of the procedure, once you’ve left the treatment room, gently dab the brows with a clean tissue, every hour on the hour until you go to bed. This absorbs any excess sebum that will secrete from the brows and helps minimize flaking/scabbing during the next 14 days.

Avoid wetting the eyebrows during the healing process as much as possible.

Do not touch, rub, pick or scratch your brows following the treatment or during the healing process.

Avoid excess sun exposure as this can cause the pigment to fade and can affect the healing process.

If you are due to give blood after the procedure, please inform your nurse about your microblading treatment you had done, as this might alter the results.

Enhancement session is generally scheduled 6 weeks after the first session.

**Should you see any signs of infection (i.e. hot to the touch, redness, excessive pussing, discoloration, etc) immediately wash brows with antibacterial soap and consult a physician. Antibiotics might be needed.**

The second day after the procedure, begin to use the aftercare balm as directed. (Typically 1-3 times daily). If you have excessively oily skin, you may require 0-1 times daily.

If you must wet the brows to clean them, you may use a q-tip and a mild soap, like Cetaphil, to gently remove the previous layer of balm or to cleanse the eyebrows.

You may find that your eyebrows will scab or become slightly dry following the treatment. If they itch DO NOT SCRATCH them please, just tap around them to release the itch.

Avoid using daily skincare products directly on the eyebrows.

Should you run out of aftercare balm, apply Aquaphor, coconut oil or grapeseed oil to the brow.

Following the aftercare instructions will ensure great results, a speedy enhancement session and longer lasting brows.

If you have lost some pigmentation in some strokes, you may use makeup on the brows to get you by until your enhancement session, only after the 14 day healing process is complete.

No  makeup should  be applied directly on the brows during the healing process.

Avoid sauna/steam rooms/tanning beds/excessive sweating during the healing process.

If your eyebrows get wet during the healing process, pat them dry with a clean tissue or towel, DO NOT RUB.

Apply your healing balm according to your therapist’s advice. If you have excessively oily skin, you may not need to use healing balm at all. For those with dry skin, balm can be used up to 3 times a day.

If you are planning a chemical peel or any other medical procedure, please inform the therapist of the microblading procedure you have had. Procedure should only be done once the healing process is complete.

Once healed, you can enjoy your eyebrows to the fullest.
